October Newsletter
The website www.iprr.co.uk is going great guns! We’ve almost reached the landmark figure of 20,000 visitors, the actual figure being 19,936 as I write this epistle.
The Chat room over which we had doubts about when we incorporated it on the website, suddenly “took off” and now attracts a regular following every Wednesday evening. In addition to the main room, due to the volume of visitors all at the same time, we have now incorporated side rooms where separate topics can be discussed.
These “side rooms” are only available on Wednesday evenings as they would involve us with extra expense if we retained them on a permanent basis, which as individuals we can’t afford.
The Chat room is open 24/7 for those of you who wish to arrange with a friend(s) to have a chat.
The Forum was going great guns with a whole range of topics for quite a long period, but since the Chat room has become popular the number of members posting has declined. A pity, but the facility remains.
We now have 52 registered members and a total of 625 postings have been made on a number of topics.
We have had one more member submit a photograph for inclusion under BICC UK in the Photo Gallery, that being Richard Withall of Sidlesham, near Chichester, West Sussex. Secretary of Chichester & DRPC.
A pity so many of you are so shy – with nearly 700 BICC members there’s a lot more pictures to be had.
We are pleased with the interest being shown at the section “Area Reports”.
Allan Cecil of Ramsgate submits fairly regular articles and pictures from the “South East Corner” – his latest contribution being an article on Ted Ivory of Sittingbourne – not often you open up an article to be confronted with a picture of a lot of dead pigeons and the predator! (this is a must read article). Not satisfied with one article he now comes up with another gem including some smashing pictures of Mr & Mrs Kevin Gray at their lofts.
Russell Bradford of Farndish in Northants will be contributing regular articles on the BICC members in the County of Northamptonshire and his efforts to increase the membership to make this a hotbed of competition.
The well known Keith Mott of Surrey who is famous for his “On the Road with” articles and videos has very kindly agreed to submit articles on BICC members in his “patch” and has already contributed two on the J & R Wills and family, John on his exploits with his long distance family, and Rose and daughter Sarah with their own lofts.
Plus, we have now added another one, including pictures of the late, great, Jim Biss of Brundall. Norfolk.
You will certainly find these articles compelling reading. Also one on Keith & Betty Mott by Ron Wasey.
Our latest “catch” was to be informed by Bernie Bennett that he would be prepared to submit articles on the BICC members in “Essex and Around”. All who know Bernie will look forward to his contributions – we certainly will.
Don’t forget to click on the menu bar button “SCMDPR”. BICC President Brian Long has a particular interest in this race as he won a sponsored free entry – plus two reserves - into the February 2006 race. I don’t doubt every BICC member will be rooting for him in the ‘Hotspot’ races and the main race on February 4th. If you go to the SCMDPR website keep your eyes open for the progress being made by “Gipping Racer” his nominated entry. IPRR were pleased to be successful in securing this sponsored prize valued at £660.00 to be competed for on the best average in the two old bird Falaise races on the 2005 race programme by Norfolk and Suffolk BICC members.
If there is something you would like to see incorporated in the site, please let us know and we will endeavour to satisfy your demands if it can de done and we can do it.
Kind regards,
The IPRR Team.
