All birds collected on a Friday must be manifested for delivery on Saturday and charged at the premium rate.
Any mis-routed pigeons must be reported to the CAT team who will arrange for the pigeon to be moved that day (At Amtrak's expense) unless the pigeon is at the hub.
In this instance it will be taken to a local fancier who will take care of the pigeon for the day.
Pigeons can only be transported in the official Homing Express carry box.
All boxes must be handled with the utmost care throughout the duration of the journey – loaded at the top of transit cages with lighter weight products.
All pigeons must be shipped using the livestock consignment note, fully completed, which contains the legal requirement of a transportation certificate.
The consignment note must be attached to the pigeon box in a clear plastic wallet.

It is not Amtrak's problem if the weather is too hot/too cold for transportation.
The birds should be in a fit state for transportation.

Amtrak reserve the right to refuse the collection of a bird that is not properly boxed and will not be expected to handle the bird directly.
